Youth EXPLORE Trades Skills

The Youth EXPLORE Trades Skills 10-12 Program provides students with learning experiences that involve the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in a number of trades or technology area including Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and some Welding. New stems are being introduced each year.

This Program is a semester long cohort program that includes 8 credits in Skills Exploration, 4 credits in English or Communication and 4 credits in Math.

The Program goals include:

  • Introduce students to trades and technology careers, and the type of work involved in them, through hands on experience.
  • Enhance existing interest in trades and technology careers.
  • Enhance students’ existing job-readiness skills, or provide opportunities for the development of new skills.
